Kirsty has been part of the I Have a Dream whānau for several years. She has provided training, professional development and supervision for our staff, mentors and volunteers. Because she loved the experience so much, in 2021 she joined the team and became our Volunteering and Mentoring Manager on a part time basis. Her other mahi outside of I Have a Dream includes facilitating mental health and suicide prevention training workshops across Aotearoa and carrying out research for the University of Auckland.
Kirsty has held lots of roles in diverse community organisations across her career and loves being part of the I Have a Dream team. Our organisation stood out to her and she knew the I Have a Dream team was one she wanted to join. She believes in the longitudinal model, the values at the core of I Have a Dream and the fact that every person involved in I Have a Dream - young person, staff member, volunteer, mentor, parent, teacher - is welcomed safely and inclusively as part of the whānau and with trust, empathy and connection at the heart of every relationship and the organisation.
Kirsty lives in Tūtūkākā with her whānau. She loves being involved in her local community and spending time in nature. She is excited about what the future holds for I Have a Dream and everyone involved.
