Dream Partners

Let's Build stronger communities together

WE’RE DEDICATED TO INSPIRING DREAMS AND EMPOWERING FUTURES

A big part of our success in this comes from the unwavering support we receive from local businesses and individuals who share our vision for the children in our community.

By providing a diverse range of experiences, opportunities and more to our Dreamers, we expand their horizons and help them discover their passions. However, none of this would be possible without the support from our local Whangarei businesses. They play a crucial role in helping us fulfil our mission and deliver impactful programs.

Support can come in many forms not just through donations or experiences. Our Dream Partner program connects local businesses that are committed to making a difference in their local community with I Have a Dream. Become a Dream Partner today and together we can build long-term relationships and create lasting positive change.

Hundertwasser Art Centre

In the last two years, 37 Dreamers have been welcomed into a dedicated after school arts programme through the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery. The Dreamers all bring their unique style, creativity and interests to each project, including clay sculptures, Dream Houses, stencil making and printing of campaign posters that communicated social and environmental messages that were important to the Dreamers.

Pak ‘n’ Save

Local owners of PAK’nSAVE Whangarei, Todd and Lillian Leathem support I Have A Dream with ‘Healthy Kai’ provisions for our programmes. They are committed to creating Tumanako (Hope) that we provide to our students in exposing them to opportunities, experiences and future pathways.

Become a dream partner

Time

Would your company like to run an event to support our charity? Perhaps some of your staff would like to become volunteers or mentors for some of our Dreamers? Or maybe you have a team that wants to help out with an activity as part of a corporate community day. The possibilities are endless, If you have the time, we would love your support.

Talent

Does your company or individuals in your organisation have a specific set of skills that may be valuable for our Dreamers to learn about? From being a guest speaker to supporting our vocational pathways and work experience activity. Our support network is full of people with talent and we’re always keen to find more!

Treasure

Maybe your company could help support our Dreamers by funding a new programme, such as sports, music or arts, and create new and exciting experiences. Or perhaps your business could implement payroll giving?  We always appreciate donations or any kind, so whatever treasure you might be able to give, we’d be immensely grateful.

Talk

Word of mouth builds our community. As do personal and business introductions and connections. Your company can help spread our message or introduce us to others that may be able to help.  Finding ways to spread the word about what we do through your own channels and networks helps us to extend our reach and community.

From our partners

We support I HAVE A DREAM because it’s about the tamariki of Tai Tokerau. Giving hope and making dreams come true for the next generation and generations to come. Who doesn’t want to be part of that?

Lillian Leathem, Owner
PAK’nSAVE Whangarei

We started working with IHAD in July 2022 and the partnership is very important to us. Friedensreich Hundertwasser believed that everyone should have the right to explore their own creative energy and that is exactly what the Dreamers have been doing while they have been visiting the Hundertwasser Art Centre with Wairau Māori Art Gallery. The professional coordination from the I Have a Dream Navigators has made this a stress-free and thoroughly enjoyable partnership for us.
