Bailey has a background in television and video production with a Bachelors in Communication majoring in Television Production. After working within the television industry for 7 years in Auckland and Waikato, Bailey moved to Ruakaka with her Husband and two young children. While raising their two tamariki she and her husband launched their own video production business, it was through this work that she discovered I Have A Dream while filming for their marketing team for updated videos on the website.
While sitting and listening to the interviews of Navigators, Mentors, Mentees and Dreamers Bailey was touched by the amazing mahi and knew this was something she believed in.
“I truly believed in the kaupapa and the incredible mahi that was being put into tamariki and rangitahi. I went home that night and declared to my husband, if I ever stop working in the video industry this is what I want to do.”
“I was fortunate to grow up with supportive parents who always encouraged me to do my best, dream big, and aim high. From an early age, I recognized that not everyone had that same support. I truly believe that one person can make a significant impact. With someone who believes in you, achieving your goals and accomplishing great things becomes possible.”
Fast forward 5 years and a position became available, Bailey jumped at the opportunity and stepped into the role of Navigator in Tikipunga and Totara Grove Primary schools with the year 3’s in 2023.
Bailey has recently finished her Diploma in Child and Youth Counselling and is looking to further her studies into Developmental Psychology, to help her support tamariki further with their emotional management and developing their cognitive skills.
