Volunteering velocity in Term 3

I Have a Dream Volunteering

We have had an extra busy term three with our I Have a Dream Volunteer crew! This term has seen our Volunteers contributing hugely across all of our kura After School Programmes, plus stepping in and helping with Garden to Table and our Te Wahi transition programme at Te Kura o Otangarei.

With lots of colds, flus and bugs going around it has meant at times we have had to navigate staff and Volunteers being away a little more often and we appreciate our Volunteers being willing to step in to support programmes.

We have a wonderful, large and diverse group of Volunteers and this term have loved seeing them all step up and challenge themselves to individually plan and run more games, activities and energisers. Term 3 has seen our Volunteers challenging and extending themselves by running for our Dreamers cooking classes, arts and crafts activities, mini olympics, mentoring, science experiments, gym sessions and taha tinana growth, garden mahi, self care sessions…the list goes on!

Term 4 will be another busy one with the final term for all our programmes plus we will be recruiting and bringing on Volunteers for our summer holiday programmes.

We would like to give huge thanks to all our Volunteers and wish you a lovely restful holiday break. Thank you so much for all your energy, commitment, patience and passion this term!

We are always on the hunt for adult and student volunteers! If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering for I Have a Dream please contact Kirsty at kirsty@ihaveadream.org.nz.
