OUR STORIES

Drink from a Kupp and raise funds!

Kupp was the brainchild of five Year 13 students at Queen Margaret College as part of their NCEA Level 3 Economics class and the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES – www.youngenterprise.org.nz). Behind the project are Victoria Hill (CEO), Greta Brown (Communications Director), Laura Christie (Marketing Director), Madeline Stewart (Finance Director) and Jasmin Buhla (Productions Director) who were tasked with planning and creating a business which produces and successfully sells a product, which they then have to review at the end of the year.

With the creation of a product, the team always wanted to partner with a local charity which would be able to benefit from the product sales. “We love the I Have a Dream goals and all our beliefs match up perfectly – we wanted to contribute to children in some way and help to give others the same opportunities we have had.”, Jasmine says.

The product the team are selling is an environmentally friendly, reusable coffee cup with 100% of the profits going to I Have a Dream. The coffee cups are JOCO cups, made out of high-quality glass which is designed to help preserve the coffee taste longer, keep the heat of the coffee in and drastically reduce plastic waste in the environment. As with all reusable glass cups, after just 15 uses the cup starts ‘paying for itself’.

So far the Kupp sales are going very well but there are still some available so be sure to get yours soon!

The cups are 8oz size, which is a ‘regular’ in the majority of cafes and accepted by all baristas and are selling for $30 each on https://kupp.mystorbie.com
