Rai Veitayaki
Meet Rai
Rai Veitayaki is a Year 3 Navigator at Totara Grove Primary.
Rai is an educator, advocate, and change-maker deeply committed to empowering tamariki and whānau to thrive.
She brings a rich background in special education, tertiary teaching, and bicultural social services, with a strong focus on trauma-informed and inclusive practice. Her work is driven by the belief that every young person deserves to be seen, valued, and supported in a way that honours their unique identity and cultural worldview.
“Over the years, I’ve worked across a range of education and support settings, building deep experience in behaviour, neurodiversity, and culturally responsive teaching. I specialise in bridging the gap — between systems and people, between challenges and opportunity — always with aroha, integrity, and a commitment to equity at the centre.
“Being part of the I Have a Dream whānau is a natural extension of my passion for transformative, heart-led mahi. I’m here to walk alongside our rangatahi, not just as a guide, but as a believer in their limitless potential.”
